How to Run Oracle EBS Analyzers: A Quick Guide

What Are Oracle Analyzers?

Before we dive into the how-to, let's quickly cover what analyzers are and why they matter.

Oracle analyzers are diagnostic scripts designed to collect comprehensive information about your EBS environment, configurations, and specific issues you're experiencing. When you run an analyzer, it examines your system, gathers relevant data, and generates a detailed report that Oracle Support engineers use to diagnose problems more efficiently.

Think of analyzers as automated troubleshooting assistants. Instead of manually collecting dozens of screenshots, log files, and configuration details, an analyzer does the heavy lifting for you—compiling everything Oracle needs to understand and resolve your issue in one go.

Oracle Support often requests analyzers to diagnose issues. Here's how to run them quickly—no technical help needed.

Two Methods Available

Method 1: Concurrent Request (Easiest—try this first!)
Method 2: Command Prompt (If Method 1 isn't available)

Note: Check your My Oracle Support document to see which method your analyzer supports.

Method 1: Run via Concurrent Request

Many analyzers (AR, AP, GL, FA) can now be run directly from EBS.

Steps:

  1. Log into Oracle EBS with appropriate responsibility
  2. Navigate: View → Requests → Submit a New Request
  3. Select: Single Request → OK
  4. Search for the analyzer name (e.g., "AR Transaction Diagnostic")
  5. Enter parameters (transaction number, customer ID, etc.)
  6. Submit the request
  7. Monitor: View → Requests → Find Requests
  8. Wait for status to show "Completed"
  9. Download: Click "View Output" and "View Log"
  10. Upload both files to your SR in My Oracle Support

Done! Much simpler than command line.

Method 2: Run via Command Prompt

Use this if your analyzer doesn't support concurrent requests.

Steps:

1. Download & Extract

  • Get analyzer from My Oracle Support using the Doc ID
  • Extract the .zip file to a location

2. Open Command Prompt as Administrator

  • Press Windows key → type cmd
  • Click → "Run as administrator"

3. Navigate to Folder

Navigate to the folder containing analyzer

4. Connect to Database

sqlplus db_name@user_name

Enter password when prompted

5. Run Analyzer

eg.

first → @ar_trx_analyzer.sql
then →@ar_trx_analyze.sql

Answer prompts as they appear. Wait for completion (5-15 minutes)

6. Upload Results

  • Find output files (.html and .txt) in the same folder
  • Upload to your SR in My Oracle Support
